WARRIORS WEEK 7 HIGHLIGHTS
The Warriors Organization is grateful to all of the Warrior Family (Parents and Players and our Coaches and Officials especially) for their willingness and flexibility in allowing us to switch games from Saturday to Sunday due to the inclement weather. Despite the cool, breezy weather on Sunday our kids had a ball and played hard.
Flag Division Highlights and Outstanding Players
The biggest highlight for the Flag players was getting to play on the MUDDY field on Sunday. They really seemed to enjoy flopping, diving and trodding through some of the puddles. Not so sure the parents were going to enjoy washing the uniforms though. A special thanks to Flag Commissioner Chris “Fudgie” Miano for making sure there were enough players and setting up the “interim” field.
Outstanding Players for this past Sunday were:
Bronx Design Group Cherokee- Ethan Familia & Daniel McSherry
Dugout Sporting Goods Apaches- Gerard Carabello & Elijah Diaz
Barino’s Market Mohicans- Paul Viselli & Anthony Bruno
Parkview Sports Sioux- Emerson Miranda & Miles Medina

Jr. Peewee Division Highlights
In the only Jr. Peewee Division game of the week, the Cardinal Spellman HS Spartans remained undefeated by coming out victorious against the Middletown Animal Clinic Ramblers 12-0. The Ramblers defense was stingy, but the Spartans were stingier. Once again the Spartans were led offensively by the 3-headed monster of Maximus Ferran, Nathaniel Cabrera and Aydin Mora. Maximus ran for 68 yards and a touchdown, Nathaniel added 64 yards and a TD. Aydin also led the defense with 3 QB sacks. The Spartans as a team played great defense, pitching their third shutout of the season. It was a tough loss for the Ramblers Defensive & offensive Lineman of the game goes to Evin “MTA” Noriega.
Defensive players of the game goes to Ayden “Antman” Ayala for having 5 tackles for the day, Tristan “Bumblebee” for shutting down the right defensive with great outside containment.
Player of the game goes to Evin “MTA” Noriega. His explosiveness on the defensive line had the crowd chanting “MTA MTA MTA” as he made a tackle for a loss at the end of the 1st half.
Coach Tim reminded the team that the regular season games are just practice for the playoffs and ended the post-game huddle with “Winners Never Quit, Quitters never win”.
The Parq Sports Bar & Rest and the O’Connor Carpets Ramblers were idol.

Peewee Division Highlights
The Jimmy Ryan’s Bronx Bar & Grill Rams bounced back with a victory over the Scavello’s on the Island Black Knigths with a score of 27-6. QB Nicolas Bustamante threw for the league leading 8th TD of the season to WR Deon Gonzales. Maximus Rivera, Kenneth Prince and Deon Gonzales added the other TD’s for this game. Tommy Forliano added 2 extra points as well as QB Nicolas Bustamante. As always nothing could have been done offensively if it wasn’t for the protection of the Oline led by Ty Diaz, Tommy Forliano, Frankie Serrano, Matthew Rodrigues, Daniel Ortiz and Anthony Hernandez. On defense Jayden Diaz, Ephram Espillat, Dangelo Cabrera, Frankie Serrano, Nicolas Bustamante, Kenneth Prince, Tommy Forliano, Anthony Hernandez kept the Black Knights out of the end zone until RB Jayden Ramirez finally broke down the defense for the Knights only score of the game. RB Luis Ferran as well as Xavier Holloway missed this game due to sickness. We hope to get them back healthy for a tough Saints opponent that matches well against the Rams. For the Knights, the Offense could never really get going. The O-line had a tough time against the Rams D. Jayden Ramirez (75 yards), Jayden Cintron (55 yards) and Stanley Cruz tried to carry the load on the ground but there wasn’t enough room to run. The defense also had rough time on Sunday. Stanley Cruz had a fumble recovery and many tackle. Jayden Ramirez, Anthony Alonso, William Lappe and Ndbusi Nwando tried to keep the Knights in the game with tough tackling. Denzel Collado also helped out on the D-line.
The undefeated Schuyler Hill FH Javelins kept up their winning ways against a never-say-die Ralph Giordano FH Saints by a score of 13-0. The Saints could never get the offense going in this one, but the defense kept it close. For the Saints Solomon Smith led the D with 1 interception and 4 powerful tackles in the backfield. Ethan Cruz had 3 tackles and 20 Rushing yards. Richard Solonia added 38 receiving yards and 3 tackles. Chelsey Samuels had 10 rushing yards, Mykal Callender had 1 Fumble recovery and 2 tackles and Adniel Sanchez added. 15 rushing yards. The Javelins Defense was once again impenetrable, chalking up their third shutout of the season and running their record up to 7-0. Liam Conlon led the D, hounding the Saints in their own backfield all day. Jayden Ciprian, Aiden Castellanos and Kenny Clark were outstanding on the defensive line as well, giving up minimal yardage. On offense the usual suspects did the scoring behind stellar blocking and protection by the O-line standouts Jayden Brown, Gabriel Green, Ismail Shahid and Brandon Smallwood. Devon Deleon scored on a 50-yard dive that went all the way and later on a left sweep. Christian Bangura scored on the extra point.
