AWARDS PARTIES MARK THE OFFICIAL END OF THE 2017 SEASON
The Flag and Tackle Awards parties marked the official end of the 2017 season with a bang. The Flag Party, though not well attended, was a fun evening for players and their families to celebrate the season and get a chance to spend some time with coaches and administrators while enjoying good food at the International Caterers. The Chief, Jay Demers entertained the youngsters with a Q&A for prizes, while the boys received their awards and posed for photos.
The Tackle Party was well attended to say the least. Parents and Players danced to the music of DJ Rob Colon and enjoyed a delicious buffet at Scavello’s on the Island. Senator Jeff Klein, Councilman Mark Gjonaj and Tom Messina representing Congressman Joe Crowley all had encouraging words for the attendees, pledging support and funding for the Warriors and improvements to the turf field. Spellman Head Coach Willie Cawley also addressed the crowd, congratulating the warriors on 66 years of success in the Bronx. The evening was highlighted by the players receiving their team and individual awards. Parents and players applauded their coaches, all who are volunteers and dedicated to their success. The League Administrators took time to acknowledge and thank all of the sponsors and those who supported the Annual Journal. President Joe DeSimone also thanked the administration team of Jim Pellicone, Jose Garcia and Jeff Ortiz for their tireless work in keeping the organization running.
2018 planning is now under way, with the Annual FREE Spring Clinic beginning on April 10th and Football Registration underway online @ www.bronxwarriorsfootball,com and in-person registration on April 7th and April 21st at Pelham Bay Park from 11:00 to 1:00pm.
