Warriors Football Week#2
Saturday Sept.16th Assemblyman Mark Gjonaj (pictured) attended our games to show his support for the Warriors 65th season. We thank him for his support.
Bronx Design Cherokee’s players of the game were Jeramiah Perez & Ryan Malone,Dugout Sports Blackfeet had a bye, Barino’s Market Mohigans players of the game were Michael Miano & Mario Santucci,Parkview Sports Sioux players of the game were Jacob Melendez & Nathaniel Platellas. The Pruzzo Market Apache players of the game were Jaxson Parris & Hayden West
JUNIOR PEEWEE DIVISION
The first game of the day was Middletown Animal Clinic Ramblers vs. O’Conner Carpet Blue Devils
The Ramblers only TD was scored by Stanley Cruz who had 76 yd’s rushing in the game. Kris Musacchio had the XP and 26yds.rushing. Joel Guerra, Matthew Rodriguez & Jordan Yepez also contributed to the ground game. Final Score Blue Devils 14 Ramblers 7
The 2nd game was Cardinal Spellman Spartans vs. Jimmy Ryan’s Crusaders.
The Spartans were led by Matthew Gutierrez who had 2 TD’s and 56 yds.rushing. D’angelo Cabrera had a TD and 48 rushing yds.Hassan Blakley had 25 yds. rushing and scored an XP. Matthew Evans also had an XP and the ground game was helped by Nathan Cabrera. Defensive highlights were from Matthew Evans who had a sack and huge tackles. Jose Surita also had a big tackle for a loss. Frankie Alverez, Maximus Ferran, Jamel Alvarez also had big plays. Special mention to Gerald Green and Carson Lowe who stepped up and played outstanding. The Crusaders only score came on an Edwin Quianes 4 yd. TD run he also scored the XP . A big play in the game was when Edwin Quianes completed a 15 yd. pass to Lorenzo Cortez and Lorenzo then ran it 15 more yds.for a 30 yd. pass reception. Neil Fico had 15 yds.rushing and Raymond Velez also contributed to the ground game. D highlights for the Crusaders were the tackling by Raymond Velez, Neil Fico, Jared Perez & Edwin Quianes . Final Score Spartans 20 Crusaders 7
The first game was Rams vs. Ralph Giordano F.H. Saints
This game was a nail biter and an outstanding played game. The Rams won their 2nd game of the season when Jermel Heard scored his 4th and winning TD with under a minute to go on a 60 yd. run.The O line led by center Ty Diaz, Jaiden Hubbard, Frankie Serrano & Daniel Ortiz opened holes for the ground attack. RB/QB Luis Ferran who stepped in for the injured Nico Bustamante did an excellent job being poised and making the right calls. The D line led by Tommy Forliano & Matthew Rodriguez with the support of LB Xavier Holloway, Kenneth Prince, Jermel Heard, Maximus Rivera & Jayden Diaz were able to step up when it counted the most. RB Jermel Heard now has 9 TD’s and over 400 yds’s rushing in 2 games. The Saints also played an outstanding game led by QB Thomas Whelan who scored 3 TD’s. WR Sean Santiago had 2 outstanding catches and a TD. The D highlights were by Enrique Quinones & Ethan Cruz who both kept pressure on the Rams O ,Excellent tackling from Javier Benalcazar , Alan Rios & Adniel Sanchez. Final Score Rams 27 Saints 26
The last game of the day was Scavello’s Black Knights vs. Schuyler Hill F.H. Javelins
The Black Knights bounced back from their week#1 loss by playing an outstanding all-around game.
The Knights scored on their opening drive as Logan Arroyo scored on a 1 yd.run and Mark Piri added the XP.Logan Arroyo scored again on a terrific 25 yd run. The Knights 3rd TD was scored by Jacob Ortega on a 40 yd.run.Jacob Ortega closed out the scoring with a 20 yd. TD run. Gabriel Toribio also contributed to the Knights ground game. The O line was outstanding all day led by Frank Cerone, Ndulbsi Nwosu, Joseph Markic & Quincy Mitchell. D highlights were a 10 yd. sack by Jacob Ortega and a fumble recovery by Joseph Santonastaso. Sacks by Gabriel Toribio, Elijah Calzadilla & Ndulbsi Nwosu. The Javelins game highlights were the great job of the D line, Xavier Agostini had 2 explosive tackles. Makhi Lessington had a tremendous shoestring tackle, Robert Salazar followed suit with another big tackle. Anthony Bell kept constant pressure on the Knights QB and had a big sack. Jason Campbell had a fumble recovery and Christian Bangura had 2 huge tackles. Final Score Black Knights 25 Javelins 0
